!!IMPORTANT!!

Dear MIX audience members,

We are informing you that the panel discussion scheduled for today (Oct 22 at 16.30), titled "The Role of Queer Culture Creators and Curators in Challenging Right-Wing Ideologies," has been canceled.

Our panellists have decided to join the Palestine solidarity demonstration at Den Røde Plads, which is happening at the same time with our planned event.

We invite you to read their statement below:

"Today we were to gather to speak about the rise of right-wing ideologies and dwindling support for LGBTQIA+ communities in recent years, and the role of the queer culture creators and curators in this struggle.

The Palestine solidarity demonstration at Den Røde Plads is happening at the same time we were going to explore strategies cultural creators and curators employ to promote visibility, challenge societal norms, and address the impact of anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation and right-wing ideologies on the arts and culture sector.

As cultural workers who have connections to the global south, we feel it is most meaningful to use our voices not just to discuss but to practice these strategies in support of a crucial moment in anti-colonial political struggle and global queer solidarity at a time when such solidarity is being suppressed and policed.

We invite anyone who feels safe to do so to join us at the demonstration. Free Palestine."

With the rise of right-wing ideologies and dwindling support for LGBTQIA+ communities in recent years, what is the role of the queer culture creators and curators?
